North to Shore Esports Showdown Delivers Thrilling Gaming Experience at Esports Innovation Center on Historic Atlantic City Boardwalk

Atlantic City, New Jersey – June 30, 2023

The North to Shore Esports Showdown took place on June 10, 2023 at the Esports Innovation Center (EIC) located on the iconic Atlantic City Boardwalk. The event featured highly popular esports titles, including Smash Brothers and Rocket League, which showcased the talent of 16 regional high school teams that are part of the Garden State Esports (GSE) league, the largest K-12 league in the world. Additionally, attendees were treated to the highly anticipated Compete Forever Madden tournament and the FIFA showdown between the Philadelphia Union and the Atlantic City Football Club. With over 300 participants, including players, parents, friends, and enthusiastic onlookers, the event was a resounding success.

The North to Shore Esports Showdown was made possible through the generous support of several esteemed sponsors. Lenovo, SHI International Corp., PCS Cyber Security, Continent8, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), and Stockton University, all played a vital role in ensuring the event’s success.

Attendees were enthralled by the state-of-the-art gaming experience offered by the Lenovo Legion systems, providing a truly immersive and thrilling atmosphere throughout the day. The tournament organizers expressed their delight at the overwhelming response.

“EIC pulled out all the stops to help us have a great event,” said GSE Founder and President Chris Aviles. “We’re excited to grow our partnership as we continue to put on top-notch events for GSE schools!”

In the Rocket League championship, Seneca High School in Tabernacle emerged as the victors, defeating Barnegat Townships’ Barnegat High School in an exhilarating match that had spectators on the edge of their seats. Seneca High School took home the coveted championship belt, showcasing their exceptional skills and teamwork.

On the Smash Brothers side, Cherokee High School, located in Marlton, showcased their dominance, triumphing over Pleasantville High School to claim the championship title. The Smash Pit drew an incredible response from fans, who remained captivated by the intense competition all afternoon.
