FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ATLANTIC CITY, July 11, 2023 — The Esports Innovation Center (EIC) is thrilled to welcome its newest member, the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City, as part of a strategic initiative to create a sustainable and thriving esports ecosystem in the city and beyond. This exciting partnership will empower the youth of Atlantic City, providing unparalleled opportunities for industry education and hands-on technology experience.

A summer camp program has been curated as the cornerstone of this partnership, designed to engage and inspire. Powered by generous contributions from Shi and Lenovo, two of the EIC’s founding partners, the program will feature the opportunity to get hands on with cutting-edge technology.

Running throughout the summer, the program will focus on nurturing the skills and understanding required in the modern esports and technology industries, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experiences. Beyond summer, further programs will be announced in due course, continuing to pave the way for innovation and workforce development in the esports industry.

The EIC remains steadfast in its mission to develop a robust esports ecosystem that generates jobs across multiple sectors, notably in technology, hospitality, and tourism. This partnership contributes to a multifaceted strategy that includes initiatives such as esports industry workforce innovation, R&D in the esports space, hosting meaningful esports events in Atlantic City, offering academic guidance to New Jersey schools, engaging local communities, showcasing industry products, providing guidance to regulatory bodies, and highlighting casino esports focus.

The Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City is committed to providing safe, enriching environments that enable all young people to reach their full potential. Their collaboration with the EIC reinforces this mission, offering young people the unique chance to delve into the world of esports and technology.

“We are delighted to partner with the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City, providing a platform for the next generation of esports industry professionals to learn, grow, and contribute to this vibrant ecosystem,” said Andrew Weilgus, Executive Director of the EIC. “We firmly believe that the future of esports in Atlantic City starts here, and we look forward to supporting and empowering our youth to become industry leaders.”
